SRA Transparency Rules – Pricing and how you pay for Immigration cases
EA Law’s extensive expertise and experience enable us to identify and address complex immigration issues that can often be stressful and time-consuming. We recognise that both personal and business immigration applications are deeply personal matters. By understanding our clients’ situations and identifying the key issues, we offer customised and bespoke services designed to meet their specific needs and requirements.
Our fees reflect and depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to:

whether you are already living in the UK or are abroad,

any previous immigration history including previous refusals

the amount of supporting evidence we have to consider,

Whether you are applying with other dependants
-
the urgency of your case,
-
whether you are able to provide the documents necessary for your application speedily,

the complexity of your case and
-
Home Office processing times, which vary greatly according to the type of application
Please see our fixed fee ranges below. The actual fixed fee will depend on the particular circumstances of your case. The ranges below are for guidance purposes.
What will your case cost?
Our fees will not include any disbursements, such as Home Office fees and Immigration Health Surcharge and are exclusive of Value-Added Tax at 20% (VAT). If a matter is terminated before completion (for example if you are unable to provide documents requested or you withdraw your instructions) we will charge for the time spent at our usual hourly rates.
Any additional work required outside the scope of any fixed fee will be charged on an hourly basis unless otherwise agreed. If such work is required, we will inform you in advance and provide an estimate or a fixed fee.
Fixed fees
In many cases, once we have initially reviewed the position and your situation, we will offer a fixed fee. This means that we may be able to charge you a fixed amount provided that there are no unforeseen complications or significant changes to your instructions.
Our fixed fee applications includes as follows-
Full service from start to finish- we would send you a list of documents to collect and provide to us. Obtain instructions from you, prepare and complete the online application form, draft the cover letter with our legal representations, peruse and advise on documents, submit the application, upload the cover letter, upload the documents, book the biometric appointment, keep you updated, take further steps if requested by the Home Office, advise you on the decision, the conditions of your new visa and next steps to extend in the future.

We have set out below a range of our likely charges:

Advice and representation at the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in relation to appeals against Home Office visa or immigration decisions – £3,000 – £10,000
Value-Added Tax (VAT)
Value-Added Tax (VAT) at 20% will usually be added to our fees and some disbursements. This applies if your usual place of residence is the UK, including if you had permission to stay in the UK but overstayed. If you are not resident in the UK, or you entered the country without permission or as an asylum seeker and do not yet have permission to stay, you are not normally liable to pay VAT.
Third party or other costs
The costs quoted here do not include:

Any Home Office fees (including the Immigration Health Surcharge) for making the application. You will pay this to the Home Office directly as part of the application process.

Where the Home Office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any appeal
In addition to our costs, you will be responsible for paying costs payable to another organisation such as, and not necessarily limited to:

Home Office application fees,

Immigration Health Surcharge (if applicable),

Tribunal and Court fees,

Barristers’ fees,

Expert report fees,

Interpreter/translation costs,

Our travel costs (if we have to travel outside our office on your behalf, for example to a Tribunal hearing or to the Home Office) and

Tribunal appeal fees
Tribunal appeal fees are currently £140 per appellant for an appeal to be decided at an oral hearing (which means that you will have a chance to give evidence in person before a judge).
For an appeal to be decided on the written evidence provided only (paper application), the appeal fee is currently £80.

Experience and Qualifications of EA Law's Immigration team and their hourly rates
EA Law’s Paralegals have between 5-7 years experience and their hourly rate is £153 plus 20% vat (no vat payable if you are not domiciled in the UK)
EA Law’s Solicitors each have over 8 years experience and their hourly rate is £319 plus 20% vat (no vat payable if you are not domiciled in the UK)
EA Law’s senior Solicitor with over 27 years experience hourly rate is £413 plus 20% vat (no vat payable if you are not domiciled in the UK)
Our team of specialist Immigration lawyers has significant experience in dealing with general and commercial Immigration law. Our senior principal solicitor, Emel Hussein heads up a team of 6 Immigration lawyers and has been working in this area since 1998, for more than 27 years, leading some of our most high-profile cases to a successful conclusion.
Our solicitors and paralegals have experience in all aspects of Immigration law and we dedicate ourselves to ensuring our knowledge stays up to date, in order to give you the best service possible. They have between 5 and 10 years of experience in this area. We always make sure that junior solicitors and members of staff are supported and supervised appropriately so that the quality of advice is not affected, regardless of who is working on your case.
Our team includes 5 paralegals who do much of the day to day work on cases. Although they are not legally qualified, some of them have law degrees, and all have between 5 and 7 years’ direct experience working in Immigration law, have received extensive training within our firm and work under the direct supervision of Emel Hussein our principal solicitor with at least 25 years post qualification experience solely in Immigration law.

Timescales
Assuming we receive all the information and documents required in a timely manner then we can prepare straight forward applications within 3 weeks. If the matter is urgent, we also provide a same day service, where we can prepare and submit your application on the same day (providing you have all the documents available).

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application. Home Office priority service may be available for some types of applications. There is an additional fee payable to the Home Office for this service.
Contact
When you first contact us we will obtain preliminary information from you and provide a complimentary free assessment. We will identify the work we can undertake under the Immigration rules, confirm eligibility, identify the best lawyer and team for your case, and provide a fixed fee quote. We can arrange a paid for consultation with your lawyer either by Zoom or face to face at our London office (if required).
Consultation
At the consultation, your lawyer will provide a detailed assessment on viable visa options and eligibility. They will advise on chance of success and best route. They will explain the process, time scale, discuss documents required and arrange a plan of action/strategy with you. The advice you will receive will be targeted and will detail an in depth knowledge of any identified issues. The plan of action/strategy agreed on will ensure you have a high chance of the best possible outcome.
For our high net worth Immigration clients; the plan of action agreed will include travelling to you in your home country and working exclusively with you and your team in the preparation and submission of your UK visa application.
EA Law’s fixed fee for the one hour consultation (by Zoom or at the office) is between £150- £413 plus 20% vat (no vat if you live abroad) depending on the seniority of your lawyer and complexity of the case. This fee will be deducted from our full fixed fee costs if you instruct us.
